The Mound of the Butterflies is the entrance to the exhibition. Entering visitors find a multitude of local butterflies shimming across the walls: Tau and purple Emperor, Large Emerald, Scarce Copper, Swallowtail, Garden Tiger Moth, Hummingbird Hawk-moth and Zygaenid moth. When the visitors calm down and pause for a moment the butterflies will start to settle down on top of their shadow and stay there even when the visitors carefully move. But once a movement becomes too lively the contemplative moment is over and the fluttering goes on…

In return, guests that are too squirrelly to ever invite the butterflies to rest get to see great numbers of mayflies, craneflies, damselflies, golden-ringed dragonflies and many-plumed moths.
