How can i make science communication into aN ATTRACTIVE experience for the science community and their stakeholders?

For the ADA Lovelace Center for Analytics, Data and Applications, we developed a modular furniture system for science communication which integrates digital and physical presentations.

why we mix physical and virtual

Humans have many senses. They are diverse. They are made to connect with other humans.

The future of communication does not start with technology. It starts with understanding problems.

Sharing. Learning from each other. Touch. Experiencing. Understanding. Finding ideas.

We create spaces where ideas can connect.

Especially in times of change, the positive energy and consulting expertise of design can help companies turn uncertainty into enthusiasm, show the way, define strategic approaches and initiate social behavioral change.

As an inclusive enterprise, the Dialogmuseum wants to set an example in the field of digital accessibility. At MESO, we were met with great openness towards entering new territory. To us, it turned out to be an extremely fortunate cooperation.

why we work in the middle

μέσος, meso. greek: the middle.

We operate where disciplines intersect. We moderate. We bring together. Expertise from all fields results in the bigger picture.

From the depths of complexity, relevant simplicity is born.

We work out the core. A new center which enables the next level.

Why we believe in real spaces

Why MESO is doing Digital Interiors - an interview with founder Sebastian Oschatz.

Sebastian, why real spaces? As far as the press goes, in the future everything will be in virtual space, won’t it?

Maybe. Currently, there’s no sign of it. Even several years of a global pandemic and sitting alone at home have not been a use case for wearing heavy glasses to immerse yourself in something. Most of the time it's just more convenient to be in the physical space. Immersion might create some extra kick for some 3d-environments, but most use cases are about other things. Getting an abstract overview. Caring about context. Feeling authenticity and relevance. So I firmly believe that real-world encounters will remain important in the future. But that people expect them to be supported by digital media.

But in the future, won’t everything be done with AI?

If films, images, texts and even live video and audio is increasingly produced by AI in the future, it will be important to score with reality. With people. Why am I doing what I do? What drives me? Why should you trust me? Why do things matter? How to create curiosity or compassion? For these kind of exchanges we need real spaces for real people, in which AI will obviously be an important tool.

HOW WE DO NEW THINGS

We have been developing digital high-tech solutions for over 25 years. Again and again our customers have asked us if we can connect things together: Interfaces, APIs, SDKs, protocols. Hightech, Lowtech. Futurism. Retro. How can we create something new?
We have been working on communication tasks for just as long. How can topics be understood? How does trust develop? How does relevance emerge? What is the role of touch? Communication hierarchies, user models, motivational models, interaction theory. How can this be used to better address relevant problems?

We are very interested in using our competencies to address innovative scenarios in all areas.

In their free movement through the showroom, visitors experience the brand's attitude as a multi-sensory spatial experience in a meticulously coordinated overall choreography of light, projections, soundscape and robot deployment.

A chromium-plated robot is located in the center of a geodesic sphere made up of LEDs which serves the robot as a drawing stage. The robot reflects the illumination effects, resulting in a magnificent light display. Through its choreographed movements and visitors’ touch gestures, the robot shows the high tech features of the new BMW M engine.

CO-INNOVATION

We know how to connect people with people, people with things, and things with things.

With this knowledge, we are always interested in innovative scenarios where we can help:
How can we transform our society into a sustainable one? How can we maintain an open, democratic society?  How will AI change our life? How can technology be used for social good?

WHERE WE HELP

We handle projects from first vague ideas to regular operation.

We ask the questions that turn an idea into a concept. We clarify the basics and define variants. We plan, design, coordinate. We program, build, and procure. We buy the stuff you need. We do support.

But its up to you to decide. Sometimes we just jump in somewhere quickly.

HOW WE WORK

We sell our work, not products.
We are not a startup monetizing later.

We advise on open source and data scarcity.

We can plan for updates, changes, and extensions right from the beginning.
We strive for your empowerment and independence.

What opportunities do digital tools hold for doctors? And how can they be integrated into existing structures and proven workflows of practices? The dipraxis in the KVWL headquarter in Dortmund was the first showroom to give doctors and medical staff access to this complex field and lets them discover and try out solutions.

We enabled all  BMW and MINI departments to upload detailled product information to the digital signage next to each vehicle. The system can be used for different markets, trade fairs and events. Silent updates to technical data can be made while the signage is in use.

WHAT WE DO

We apologize, an error caused this action to fail.
